Crafting with Delight AirDry Modeling Compound!

I am looking forward to being a part of the Creative PaperClay design team again Jan.-June 2015.  One of the products that the company sells is Delight Air Dry clay.  Here is a super easy project using the  Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound.  You only need 3 things: Delight Air Dry (obviously), a mold, and powders (Pearl Ex and/or shimmery eye shadows) plus a knife and a brush.

First cut off 1/4 of the package and squeeze in your hands.  Wrap the remaining clay tightly in plastic wrap or in a Ziploc baggie to prevent drying.  Flatten clay on work surface until it is large enough to cover mold image.  IMG_1230

Press clay into mold being sure to hit all the crevices and dimples.  IMG_1231Remove clay from mold and turn face-up. I love how beautifully it captures all of the design details!   Cut away excess clay.  Smooth rough edges.

“Paint” the areas with Pearl Ex powders or eye shadows. IMG_1232 Set aside to dry (1-3 days depending upon the thickness).

Drill holes in wing tips and add a wire for hanging.IMG_1236
